Diabetes

I find it hilarious and ironic that patients who are diagnosed to have metastatic cancer are told that they should not worry about their blood sugar levels (since they are going to die soon... enjoy life). This is BAD practice and needs to be ceased. Some of these patients would potentially live for a long time and get into trouble due to high sugar levels. Everything helps keep patients well. Everyone contributes.

Friends and Professionals

What do I do when a friend of mine is on treatment and I am pretty sure that they are not getting optimal treatment? Do I keep intervening on my friend's behalf and undermine their primary doctor? Difficult. Very difficult.

What does the doctor feel?

I realize that most patients and their relatives are petrified by the the first appointment to their cancer doctor. A fair number of times, they have not been told clearly what the diagnosis is. Ever wonder what the doctor must be feeling at the start of the new conversation?
